The Leap of Faith
27.5m tall and 61m long, from the top of the Ziggurat the Leap of Faith catapults riders into a transparent tunnel and through a shark-filled lagoon.
as I get older my sense of claustrophobia increases
but this would still be worth it

On Tuesday, September 20, 2011, the Disney Parks & Resorts organization revealed it had obtained the exclusive, worldwide theme park rights to filmmaker James Cameron’s AVATAR and its forthcoming sequels. The first AVATAR-themed land (Yes, I said “first”) is set to begin construction in Disney’s Animal Kingdom by 2013 and will be open sometime 5 years from now at an estimated cost of $500 million.
Many true Disney fans are not too happy about the choice to build not only one, but several park atractions based on a film that Disney had nothing to do with, especially when Disney already has their own film with the same basic plot structure, just set in 1607 Virginia and not a future alien planet. Although, with all of the success that George Lucas’ films have enjoyed at Disney’s Hollywood Studios, one can’t really fault them for trying to bring in another huge director’s films.
(I know that I usually keep my opinions out of my trivia, but I just plain don’t like this plan)
really…
you’re going to build this
but not Beastly Kingdom that sounds like the place of my dreams

Disney’s Animal Kingdom focuses on three broad classifications of animals: those that exist in today’s reality; those that did exist, but are now extinct (i.e., dinosaurs); and those that only exist in the realm of fantasy. In the original design for the park, the animals of legend were to have their own section.
The original design for Animal Kingdom included a section called the Beastly Kingdom. It was a land devoted to creatures of legend and mythology, such as unicorns, dragons, and sea monsters. The land would feature two realms, one for good and one for evil creatures. The evil side would have featured a roller coaster ride though a ruined castle, home to a greedy fire-breathing dragon who horded a fabulous treasure in the tower chamber. The good side would have featured a musical boat ride through animal scenes from Disney’s animated classic, Fantasia.
Due to budget constraints, Beastly Kingdom never came to fruition and Camp Minnie-Mickey was built as a temporary tenant of the Beastly Kingdom land.
BUT IT SOUNDS SO COOL
I WOULD LOVE THE FUCK OUT OF THIS
build it Disney
please

Former Disneyland mermaid, Edie, shares what it was like to don a tail and swim in the happiest place on earth:
Being a professional mermaid for Walt was nothing to take lightly. The Productions Department measured us from hip to toe for neoprene tails, complete with large flukes, and green starfish bras. We were taught to slither into the Submarine Lagoon from a hidden chamber and dolphin kick underwater to magically surface in the center of the pool. There we sat on a rock and untangled our hair with immense blue and yellow plastic combs, and plucked ersatz lyres. We worked in shifts of two, and traded off hourly.
Each time a submarine passed, we dove underwater to frolic about, hang upside down by spinning our tails, and to wave at curious faces plastered against the portholes. With practice we learned to smile without emitting bubble screens that would distort our faces into repulsive creatures from the deep. For all this we were paid $1.85 an hour - a whopping net of $59.55 each week.To read more of “Diary of a Disneyland Mermaid”, visit here! :)
I want to be a disney mermaid….but they at least have to pay me minimum now…

“This would be a man that loves going to work and does not dread it the night before. Upon entering the Magic Kingdom, one of the security guards said to the girl “Excuse me Princess, can I have your autograph.” I could see that the book was filled with children’s scribbles as the guard asked the same question of many little Princesses. The little girl could not get over the fact that the guard thought she was a real princess.”
that is a man that appreciates how special a child’s day is

Why on Earth is there not a Tim Burton theme park yet?
Johnny Depp has children to raise
what.a.good.question.
although I think the answer lies heavily in the fact that his movies were produced by different companies and that sounds like a royalties nightmare

“On Disneyland bride Kristie’s wedding day, a tiny tot approached her with his autograph book in tow- he thought she was a Disney princess (rightfully so, she looked stunning!) and was determined to get her autograph. Kristie of course obliged and singed “Princess Bride Kristie” in his memory book.”
CAN.YOU.IMAGINE.
I mean damn that must have been both of their dreams come true

TodayYesterday, there was a kid near Adventureland who was about 4 years old or so. he was a wearing a princess crown, had a princess wand, the autograph book was princesses, etc. and there was a grown man teasing him about “being gay”. A grown man.Peter Pan likes to hang around the Adventureland bridge and he happened upon that scene. Not liking what he saw, especially from a grown up, he spoke up:
“Excuse me, sir, but I’m about to give you some advice I never tell anyone: grow up.”
is there a Peter Pan face character that is not perfect?
the internet is leading me to believe that there is not
