Things I'm Obsessing Over

the audit’s done

and now I like my job and the day’s don’t suck anymore

coincidence? 

I think not

was just informed that a work study student from another department will be coming in a few hours a week 

helping with little tasks 

told that they’d be like my own assistant most of the time

and wouldn’t that be nice?

one of the things I really like about this job is working alone

another woman in the office said that she would just take part of a study because she’s frantic like a chicken with her head cut off

she named all of the files wrong

and put them in a dumping ground folder where they don’t belong

so now I have to go and look for all of them

and rename them

and when I tried to give her a sticky note with the proper instructions before she started

she acted insulted and said that she knew what she was doing

ARE YOU SURE

*dead*

the other archiver ‘is sick’ today

the day of the big audit

the audit that they said we had scanned all the files necessary

but now they’re bringing me file after file that wasn’t done yet

that they need ASAP like right this second because people are sitting in a board room waiting for them

THE SCANNER ONLY RUNS SO FAST EVERYONE

so man fuck the other archiver I know he’s not really sick and he knew this audit was today

when someone in the office spells your name wrong in an email

when they had to look up your email address by name

this is going to be a really fucking long day if I have to fight with the scanner like this  the whole time

every minute that passes after the time I should have already left work makes me lose that much more will to live

jeeeeeeez

it’s insult to injury that not only are there a BUNCH of files but these are some of the longest files I’ve ever dealt with

this one going through the scanner is at least 800 pages long no lie

and the scanner only accepts 50 pages at a time

*cringe die*

so I had a manageable number of files to finish tonight

but then they added more

oh my gosh

I’m going to starve tonight

I wish I had a car to pick up more food

somebody better offer to

or else I’m going home

no friggin’ lie

there’s some sort of audit going on at work

and it’s making people really crazed

which makes my job more stressful

so I’m going to just stay after today until all the files are scanned

and any hours that put me over 80 hours for this pay period

become paid time off next week

I think I can work with this

today’s adventure: eating cheetos without getting ANY dust on the files I’m scanning
