I assure you Ahbi’s life is not nearly as hard as she lets on.

So I still get petfinder updates about pugs and dogs in the area. Saw this image saying this pug was in the animal control in my hometown. 

Immediately started tearing up thinking about this poor baby being obviously so ill in a kill shelter that can’t do much for her.

So I forwarded the info to the Mid-Atlantic Pug Rescue and they promptly replied saying they’d call and pick her up once the owner claim period of 24 hours was over. 

And they do indeed have her now and immediately took her to the vet where they found an oversized mast cell which can’t be operated on yet because she’s too ill, horribly infected dirty ears, and eyes so dry they can’t produce tears, and a severe skin infection.

Winnie isn’t the only ill pug in MAPR’s care though. The group is all volunteer and nonprofit. They make sure all pugs are well before they are taken to their forever homes. So this of course means they incur large medical expenses making sure these pugs are happy and healthy. 

So if you’re a pug lover consider a donation to MAPR  or even purchase something off of their Amazon wishlist. MAPR serves a good amount of the East Coast of the United States.

If you don’t make a donation to MAPR I encourage you to search for rescue groups in your area for your breed of choice. There are so many good organizations trying to help pets in many areas.
