AT THE JOB I INTERVIEWED AT YESTERDAY

I START THE DAY AFTER MY BACKGROUND CHECK CLEARS

SO EARLY NEXT WEEK

I hear back about the job interview by the end of the week

and if I get it start on monday

so fucking anxious

they seemed to like me okay then

but they’re doing a few more interviews

so who knows

I’m headed to a job interview right now

full time

but only a temporary position (3-10 months with no definitely end time)

THIS WOULD BE A GOOD TIME FOR A PERMANENT POSITION TO GET BACK TO ME

but wish me luck!

it would seem that my cousin Taylor is going to come and live with me (not finalized however but certainly looking super likely)

and I have a job now

so I’m officially staying in Chapel Hill

whoa

things looking up for Arielle 

now just continue to look up in the job market

so I appear to have gotten the grocery job?

pending the results of a background check (which should be squeaky clean!)

only part-time though

which means I at least have to find another part-time position

and be scraping by

still waiting to hear from and hoping on a fulltime ‘big girl job’ coming through

but this at least will let me not have to worry so much about my dwindling savings

although scraping by will mean that I won’t be able to save at all and will probably get super scary in 6 months when my student loans start needing payments

I’ll probably just be trying to apply and interview at more livable salary positions the whole time I’m working

*sigh*

but at least this is something

have a job interview at a grocery store tomorrow morning

went to bed early at 11 pm to help deal with this

slept for about an hour and a half and woke up with a killer headache 

tried falling asleep again and it didn’t work

so going to stay up a little and drink some water and try to fall asleep

also at some point flux stopped running on my computer and I didn’t notice?

probably explains why my sleeping lately has been so messed up…

but it’s back on and on even lower settings 

anyway I’m hoping to just stay up for about an hour and then feel up for sleep again, hopefully this headache goes away

plus I have to ride the bus to a stop that I’ve never been to before to get to the grocery store which means I have to leave early to deal with this. 

Also the bus stop that clearly services the grocery store has no actual sidewalks that lead to the grocery store? So that’ll be interesting and hopefully not too dangerous. Which means I have to get there even earlier to deal with this.

*sigh*

and hopefully I get some sleep at some point too

I have now applied to 

10 full-time permanent positions

2 full-time temporary positions

1 part-time permanent position

3 part-time temporary positions

at different UNC positions

as well as 25+ teacher’s assistant positions in the local school district

Positions that start August 20th. But all still seem to be available online….

at least I heard back from Harris Teeter

so that’s SOMETHING at least right?

But if they offer me part-time (<20 hours) I can’t afford my life and need to find another part-time job at least

But they might not even offer me it

My whole life is me looking at job boards, applying to jobs, and checking up on the status of jobs that exist already.

While feeling an ulcer in my stomach forming

at Harris Teeter 

which is a grocery store

but I do.not.care.

because bills and stuff

still waiting to see what happens with some other positions too though

but breathing a little bit easier

and who knows maybe this can be an example of when it rains it pours 

frrrrrrreaking out about jobs

every day it’s pestering me in the back of my mind

fucking bull shit economy

and tons of people working for free/less than they should

is creating a job market that doesn’t really have entry level positions

because you know economics that I mostly understand but don’t feel like articulating

and wtf all of these people I know with their real jobs

I’m so pissed

I should not be this stressed

I swear to goodness I can feel an ulcer forming
