Notes oh no this book I have to read for Global Health is pretty grossit’s called ‘Dancing Skeletons; Life and Death in West Africa’ about a female biocultural anthropologists work in ‘Africa’
keeps referring to it as Africa in generalizations
described someone as ‘looking like an African prince’
or this that literally made me say ew aloud
like I don’t even know that much about the objectification of native peoples through research and humanitarian work
and even I know that this is a gross way to discuss the subject
so like I’m sure there’s a lot of things that more knowledgeable people would be even more offended by
